How Mix Checker works

The desktop plugin sends your DAW master output to the Android app over the same Wi-Fi or hotspot network, so you can make decisions on a real phone speaker.

1

Insert plugin

Open your DAW and insert Mix Checker on the master channel or final monitoring chain.

2

Connect phone

Open the Android app, scan the plugin QR code, choose a nearby device, or enter the computer IP manually.

3

Listen instantly

Play your session and hear the mix through your real Android phone speaker, earbuds, or selected output.

Install guide

Follow these steps if the Android app cannot find your DAW plugin automatically.

Download

Download the Windows or macOS ZIP package from this page, then install the Android app from Google Play.

Install

Extract the ZIP first. On Windows, run the included installer or copy helper. On macOS, run the included package or beta install helper.

Open DAW

Restart your DAW if needed, rescan plugins, then add Mix Checker on your master channel.

Pair app

Open Mix Checker on Android and connect by nearby device, QR code, or manual IP.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common setup issues.

The app cannot find my computer

Make sure the phone and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network, or connect your computer to the phone hotspot. Open the plugin inside your DAW, then tap Refresh in the app.

I do not hear sound

Check that the plugin is on the master channel, the DAW is playing audio, your phone volume is up, and the Android app is connected or streaming.

Latency feels high

Use Low Latency mode for quick checks. Use Lossless mode when you prefer quality and stability over the lowest delay.

Windows firewall blocks connection

Allow your DAW or Mix Checker through Windows Firewall for private/public networks, especially when using phone hotspot mode.
